Your role
As a Senior Software Engineer AWS, you build, design and maintain the AWS data layer that forms the backbone of our future Transport Services landscape. You design the environment based on our business needs and create a stable and scalable foundation for all planning and operational processes. You work with a broad AWS tech stack, including TypeScript, CDK, Lambda, DynamoDB, Postgres, EventBridge, Step Functions, API Gateway, SQS and SNS.
You create a decoupled backend that provides high‑quality data products to Mendix frontends and other domains. You bring strong architectural skills and clear technical direction. You translate business goals into technical solutions and help bridge a gap within the team: one colleague excels in business design and needs technical support, while the previous engineer was technically strong but less involved in design. With your combined technical and conceptual skills, you strengthen both sides.

Your colleagues
You join the Transport Services IT team, a growing domain team formed from three earlier teams. The team grows from 11 to 14 colleagues and includes Mendix developers, high‑code engineers and solution consultants. You also become part of the AWS backend sub‑team together with a Lead Engineer, a Solution Consultant and another engineer.
The team works in an open, supportive and innovative environment. As a senior, you also contribute to our AWS backend chapter and the data product community, where we shape shared technical standards.

Salary between € 4,588 and € 7,559 gross per month at 37 hours per week .
Hybrid working and flexible working hours. If you work from home more than two days a week, you receive €45 net per month.
8% vacation pay and 25 vacation days based on a full‑time contract.
Travel allowance for commuting from 6 km each way up to a maximum of 70 km.
