Backend Developer Team IT Sorteren/SBS

Help build a serverless platform that processes millions of packages every day. Work with AWS, Typescript, Github, and CDK within an innovative team in The Hague. You will develop a serverless platform that helps sorting centers sort packages quickly and optimally. Help build a solution that processes millions of packages every day.

Visible work: You will develop the new platform that helps sorting centers prioritize packages intelligently. You will work on a solution that processes millions of packages per day in more than 30 sorting centers across the Netherlands and Belgium.
Challenge: You will select and apply the best AWS Serverless tools with a modern tool stack, including GitHub (Actions) and CDK. You will experiment with Lambda, DynamoDB, ALB, EventBridge, SQS, and SNS until you find the best solution.

This is your role:
As a Backend Developer within the IT Sorting team, you will work on the SBS Now project. You will translate complex logistics processes into stable, scalable software solutions. You will develop and contribute to a platform with 100% uptime as its goal. You will contribute ideas about architecture, CI/CD, and automation and work closely with colleagues from various disciplines.

You will become part of our PostNL Engineering Community and contribute to open source initiatives in which we research and apply best practices and innovations. You will work in a BizzDevOps team and have a passion for serverless infrastructure.

The team:
You will be part of the IT Sorting team, which consists of three solution consultants, two engineers, one lead engineer, one architect, one scrum master, and three functional specialists. The team is working on the transition from SBS Classic to SBS Now. Team fit, eagerness to learn, and the ability to tailor technical choices to project needs are important.

• Salary between scale 12 gross per month at 37 hours per week. But 32 hours is possible too!
