This is your role 

As an AI Engineer in the AI Center of Excellence (CoE), you will develop and implement generative AI solutions. You’ll translate business challenges into scalable applications, such as conversational agents and document automation. 

You will build end-to-end GenAI pipelines—from data ingestion and prompt engineering to fine-tuning and monitoring. You’ll work with AWS-native services, TypeScript (via CDK), and Python. You’ll also advise on cloud best practices, control costs, and ensure secure and efficient implementation. You’ll play a key role in turning proofs of concept into production-ready services and help define standards within the AI CoE.

What you bring 

You are a proactive engineer who enjoys experimenting and isn’t afraid of failure. You work independently, but also thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team. You enjoy mentoring others and explaining technical decisions. 

You also recognize yourself in the following: 

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree. 
• You have experience with AI/ML or backend engineering, focused on generative AI. 
• You are skilled in Python and TypeScript. 
• You have experience with AWS (e.g., CDK, serverless architecture). 
• You’ve worked with vector databases, SQL, and NoSQL.

Top benefits of this role: 

• Salary between €4,521.29 and €7,448.06 gross per month (scale 11–12) for a 37-hour workweek. 
• Hybrid work options and flexible hours. If you work from home two or more days a week, you’ll receive a €45 net monthly allowance. 
• 8% holiday allowance and 25 vacation days (on a full-time basis). 
• Travel expense reimbursement. 
• A solid pension plan via the PostNL pension fund.
